Our Beliefs
At Powelton Presbyterian Church, we embrace the good news of the gospel and the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who creates, redeems, sustains, and transforms all things. We believe in Jesus Christ, fully human and fully divine, who gave His life for our salvation. Through Christ, we are assured of grace, mercy, and abundant life. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we are called to live for Christ with joy and purpose.
As a Presbyterian church, our faith is rooted in the scriptures and expressed through the Nicene and Apostles' Creeds. We emphasize the governance of the church by its members, a hallmark of Presbyterian tradition. United in one Lord, one faith, and one baptism, we joyfully participate in Christ’s work and mission in the world.
